Coraline is creepy! I just finished it and I don't want to go to sleep in case of the button-eyed witch will get me in my sleep. I don't know how children could read this and ever sleep by themselves again. I really enjoyed it even though I was thoroughly creeped out the entire time. I was a little apprehensive because I didn't care for Stardust but this is great. Gaiman's fairy tales are going to last a very long time. People are going to read his stuff fifty years from now and still enjoy them.

The first horror book I have read that took me so long to read. Overall, it was an amazing book.
At first, I wasn't too sure of how the plot would play out, since I watched the 2009 movie before I read this; but halfway through it took a turn and was a really great read. I love the insect imagery used and how the diction becomes more elaborate as Coraline becomes braver. It was interesting to see how the movie interpreted certain parts of the book.
I really liked this book. I wish I had read it when I was younger, but I still loved it at 20 years old.
I loved how Coraline acted, I loved her personality and her bravery. I didn't hate that she wanted more of her life, she's a kid at the end of the day, I remember wanting a different life when I was a kid, not because I didn't love my parents but because I thought that would make me happy, I was proud of her when she recognized what she had in her life, that was something really mature. I loved the message of the book, I loved the portrayal of Coraline because it reminded me of my childhood. Coraline (not Caroline) Jones, you're the bravest girl I've ever read about.
