I loved this one! Quick & easy read. The descriptions were so awesome & creeped me out more than some of the other horror novels I’ve read this year. I can already see this becoming a comfort read I keep going back to.
mysterious
Sweetly intriguing. I loved the journey and the characters!
i can happily say that re-reading this in the same year is actually pretty good! both times i really enjoyed the story and gaiman’s narration. a creepy but cozy book! highly recommend!!
I love the film so, so much but this just didn’t live up to it!
I cant give it any lower but objectively it probably shouldn't get 3.5 stars- I wasn't a big fan of the writing, I was hoping it would be alot more atmospheric and descriptive
And also- where was wybie?? he would’ve 100% managed to save the book. instead it was the artwork that saved it-Chris Ridells work is amazing

There were a number of things not present in the movie. The atmosphere was a lot creepier than what I have seen on the screen. Coraline is more fleshed out in the book, so is the belldame. I'm not sure whether it's because I'm already preconditioned, but the movie was just better in my opinion. The addition of Wybie and his grandma gave the story more strings to pull the mystery and make a broader connection to the world of Coraline.
I did enjoy the book overall, but it didn't live up to the initial expectations I had.

I was quickly enveloped in the fantasy world, and it was a short read, I was able to knock it out in a day.

There's nothing I can say I disliked about this one; it has everything you want from a good work of fiction: interesting characters, parallels, symbolism and a (more or less) descriptive language. It's a quick burn, but a deep one and it's definitely worth reading!
