There are some gems in the book that are genuinely good and enjoyable.
BUT you also get the sense that the author seems deeply unhappy, has a lot of issues, falls in line with the whole "all stand up comics are dead inside" trope, and is sort of problematic. He also doesn't seem very respectful of women and gives the vibe like he would manic pixie dream girl someone. Some of the poems were repetitive and wouldnt typically be something most people consider poetry. The overall collection doesnt really say or offer much. I picked it up cause the few poems i scanned made it seem like it would be filled with more dark and sarcastic humor about life in LA than is actually present. The author is also a white guy who uses the N word in a poem, one that seems to make light of sexual assault/might be triggering for survivors, and has one poem that, as a woman, seems very "creepy stalker customer" about a woman working somewhere he went.
