I received an e-ARC from Charlesbridge Publishing.

Hey, Dog is a sweet picture book about the power of love — especially when shown to stray animals. With lyrical text and a true-to-life plot, this book shows that children can be sensitive and that abused animals can love again. I highly recommend this picture book to readers of all ages and anyone who’s ever loved a pet.

My youngest rated it 3 because of how sad the book is and what happened to the dog.

Hang on a sec, I'm still crying. This one got me from the start. A little boy finds an abused dog in his yard and slowly builds his trust while caring for him. Very sweet .
