Adrian Cobb and Jay (Ajay) Sunagar are truly a refreshing couple to read about.
Both enter into the situation as this being a weekend romp and nothing more. By the end of that weekend, both could see themselves in a different.
In comes the burden of poor communication...
To take a step back to the beginning, Adrian and jay meet at a bar during baking event. Adrian is newly separated and Jay is single. Jay being much more forward than Adrian, make initiations that Adrian never refuses.
You later discover throughout the story ta plans are made to continue seeing one another but Jay is "ghosted" by Adrian for what seemed like reasonable reasons to him. Only he came to the conclusions as a solo act. Jay for his part, goes through the stage that any person would go through. Worry, stress, anger, and the realization he'd been ghosted.
Another fantastic twist, Jay is soon to be a former roommate of Seth, Adrian's brother who is moving out and getting married. Adrian is helping Seth when Adrian arrives and the dam begins to crumble. Pain, wincing, hurt, unshed tears, and shock seem to envelope these two. Being stuck in a truck together is just the beginning of a few bumpy days together.
Helping Seth and Erik during this short period with moving, unpacking, and cake testing, was just the push both Jay and Adrian needed to get everything on the table...and in the bedroom. Of course, Jay had a twist of a plan of his own and he realizes his actions were no better than Adrian's when all was said and done.
Adrian returns home to run his business, get a clear head and make an attempt to understand Jay's perspective. Jay makes a visit to Adrian's bakery unexpectedly, admits he was wrong, and should not have ended things that way the second time around.
Working out the kinks, Adrian and Jay embark on a slow building of trust, real and open communication, bone deep love and happiness.
One thing was abundantly clear, communication - or lack there of - was a common theme in this story. You will understand better after having read this book.
Family revelations with parents, exes, and children as well as personal fears and growth help to bring these two where they belong...permanently in the arms of one another.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book by Brigham. The characters were were funny and still had some sharp edges.

They meet up again at the beautiful Williamsville Inn that Adrian’s brother’s fiancé owns.
Through their week long visit, Adrian does his best to prove to Jay what he feels.
It takes a few times but the affection they feel for one another blossoms as they find their common ground again
Brigham’s writing style is smooth and puts you in the moment. She has a way of describing events that puts you in the scene.
If you like seasonal books, books about bakers and forgiveness, this book is for you.

Cute premise but I was fairly bored with it. Lots of small chat and not enough romancing.
Brigham Vaughn drops us in a vat of ice in The Cupcake Conundrum. I have to admit that I was laughing during this scene because I have driven that trip and after moving someone’s stuff Adrian had to be tired and needed someone to talk with to keep him awake. Then stuck in an apartment with someone who will not talk to you? Awk-ward!
Plus the story is very funny. There are scenes that are very hot and some that are emotionally intense. Love can be that way and Vaughn puts Adrian and Jay through their paces.
I have loved this series so far and yes, I will confess that I really want more!
