As a lover of Ballet Shoes, Carrie Hope Fletcher's story inspired by it had a lot to live up to. I can safely say that it is just as charming as the original. As an adult reader, I love the intertextual nature of this book and recommend you read Ballet Shoes as well as Into the Spotlight, as they complement each other so well. Also I will be forever grateful for the LGBT representation in here!

I love Carrie Hope Fletcher's books so much, and was really excited when I heard that she was writing her first children's novel. Like her other books this book is full of hope and completely heartwarming. You can definitely tell that the author works in theatre--the many details made the setting completely realistic, and the story very immersive. This is a gorgeous little book about leaving your mark, and overcoming obstacles to follow your dream. Perfect for anyone who loves the classic "Ballet Shoes", or is looking for a wonderful story to disappear into for a while!
