Like Dead Romantics, this is a great story of grief, love and growth. Ashley Poston’s books feel like they are written for me.

So, picture this: a book publicist who's always on the go and has her whole life mapped out, suddenly finds herself in a bit of a predicament. Why, you ask? Well, she's fallen head over heels for her temporary roommate! But here's the kicker - he's living seven years in the past! Can you believe it?

Clementine spent a lot of time as a child at her aunt's extraordinary apartment, which had a magical air about it. After her aunt passes away, Clementine inherits the mysterious home alone, which turns out to be an enormous responsibility. The apartment has the power to transport people through time, allowing them to travel seven years into the past or future and meet people from various historical periods. Clementine has a formidable struggle because it looks that the apartment's powers are more than her capacity to handle them.

The one trope I had an aversion towards was TIME TRAVEL be it in a fantasy or a sci-fi setting, but now after reading [b:The Seven Year Slip|62926938|The Seven Year Slip|Ashley Poston|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1685350807l/62926938._SX50_.jpg|98750023] I am actively searching for romances that transcends time???? HELLOOO??? ASHLEY POSTON WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO ME?????

Thanks, Ashley Poston, for opening up a whole new world for me! IWAN and CLEMENTIME are my new favorite book couple! <3

The Seven Year Slip by @heyashposton was no Dead Romantics, but it had moved A Novel Love Story up my TBR for SURE.

PROS:
🧑🏻‍🍳The fact the Magic just is and time isn’t wasted trying to discover the why behind it allows it to remain something special.
📚Love a character finding their path and passion in their 30’s.
🧑🏻‍🍳Thinking you are on the right path and being able to admit that it just isn’t the right path for you is *chef’s kiss*
📚Suicide is handled in a very respectful way that I greatly appreciated.
🧑🏻‍🍳The differences in how grief is handled by the different characters.
📚Clementine had some pretty amazing friends.

CONS:
🧑🏻‍🍳A lot can change in seven years

beautiful beautiful BEAUTIFUL book!!❤️
Every page was absolute perfection and the writing was lyrical, heartwarming, and so real. It’s hard finding books that can capture difficult topics and embody it.
This is my second book for Ashley Poston but she is not one of my official must-buy authors.

“Universal truths in butter. Secrets folded into the dough. Poetry in the spices. Romance in a chocolate.
Love in a lemon pie.

”Romance in wasn’t in chocolate, it was in the gasp of breath as we came up for air.”

The sadness with last forever. It wasn’t a lie. There was sadness, and there was despair, and there was pain— but there was also laughter, and joy, and relief. There was never grief without love or love without grief.”
