Definitely better than the first book out of this series. But still a lot of flaws.
Sometimes it's still confusing, but the wording got better and the writing style itself too, but I am sure that's 'cause this book is written by a different author. At first I didn't notice and hoped since the third book seemed to be so good that I would see a pattern of learning and adapting, but just different authors with different strengths. Some cringy things were there too like the one friend of the protagonist who referred a name to Marvel ('Andrew Marvell’ sounds like a fake name. Does it have the X-Men in it?') and shortly after it said this: 'She must think you’re going to do dr0gs and have s3× with people like Andrew Marvell.' Totally weird friend and unnecessary commenting. But the main character wasn't better she decided that even though she asked like million times what happened that just 'cause she didn't get this told that she will just give up (You’d think I would have been just bursting with questions at this point, that I would have been grabbing everybody by their lapels and shaking them with my little fists till they told me what the fuck was going on around here. But I wasn’t in a mood to ask questions. I didn’t want to hear the answers). That is no willpower whatsoever and made the protagonist way to weak for the main role of this book. But the funny part was when the ending got rushed and she got powerful and fierceful. And wanted to get out of there. Out of nowhere. Made zero sense. Sorry, but this book wasn't that great.
2 stars for it not to be confusing and cutting of at the climax like the first book. Also for not over using anapher and weird 'poetry'. Plus, that this one had a better plot idea than the first book.

...Did I just read the first chapter of a WattPad story ?
Because it sure reads like one!

Title: A short story with dynamics, emotions, and a good twist
Short description: Persephone struggles to find her talent and place in school as she struggles after her dad dies until she discovers a power she did not ask for.
Pros: I enjoyed this story from the beginning until its end. The writing is smooth and guides the dynamic of the story well through it's key parts.
Cons: I feel like this could be an introduction to a story I'd like to read more of, but even with this length, it stops at the perfect moment.
Recommendation: This is a book for those who don't shy away of a bit of mystery and supernatural within their reads.
Rating: I give this story 5/5, because it was a pleasurable and smooth read.

I didn’t really like this short story. I do understand it’s a short story, but I feel it needed more. I liked the ending. I felt she made the correct choice; but everything that led up to that just felt unfinished. It felt like an X-men retelling in a way. It’s not my favorite out of the Amazon series.
