I really liked this and think it could be a good short series of maybe 2-3 books easily. I also think many people that a giving low ratings are being way to critical of something so short

The first half was interesting, but once it got to a turning point it kind of felt out of left field. I do see some of the Persephone mythical undertones, but I think had it been a full length novel it could have explored those ideas more. For a short story though it was fine.
