ugh this BOOK! so beautiful and devastating all at the same time. second chance romance is one of my favorite tropes, and this book does it so well. the idea of fate bringing people back together when they need it most is so heartwarming. i love how supportive Jessie was of Callen and how badly she wanted to help him, but she knew that she needed to wait until he was ready to help himself. Callen’s backstory was the devastating part of this book, his fathers harsh words following him all the way into adulthood despite all of his success. and I am SO PROUD of Callen! while he was kind of a dirt bag in some regards, i think he made up for it. and the letter he wrote Jessie??? oh god, i MELTED! i think Mia Sheridan does romance so well and I always have a good time reading her books.
