First of all, this was so much better than the first book if possible..
Second, I love love love the new characters Hannah & Nik way better than Kady & Ezra, they totally KICKASS!

I still am very happy for their return. So glad our Group survived.

Now excuse me i'm gonna happily hop on the next book fully knowing that its gonna give me anxiety and stress just like this one but i'll gladly do it.

While I liked Illuminae a bit more than I liked it's sequel, I can most definitely say this book is

I really loved this book! I was a little nervous going into it because I loved Illuminae so much and I’d heard that this one didn’t live up to expectations, but I really super enjoyed it! The characters are fabulous and the strangely formatted storytelling is really fun and entertaining.

 Wooooowwww. Incredible.

I read Illuminae over 2 years ago, so while I remember loving it, that's about all I remember. So I went into this with zero expectations except for the hope that I would love this one as much.

And i did! It was so good. I absolutely love the format of these series, it's unique, I've never read anything like it before and it makes for an incredible reading experience. It truly makes it feel like you are experiencing everything that is occurring rather than simply reading about it.

I think I love Hanna and Nik even more than Kady and Ezra, which is a lot. I love both of them as characters, they were both so badass and I really enjoyed following them. Their banter together was also incredible. There were also so many other characters I loved, specifically Ella. She was spunky, sarcastic, and I loved reading her parts.

Gemina was so action packed, and I feel like it didn't settle down for even a second. It was close to impossible for me to put the book down because there was always something going on that had me on the edge of my seat.

There were also a couple twists that had my jaw on the floor. One thing in particular I didn't see coming at ALL and made the stakes so much higher!

Absolutely can't wait to finish this series!

Something I was really concerned with going into Illuminae was that I wouldn’t be able to connect with the characters because of the way the book was formarred. After actually reading Illuminae I realized I was wrong. But going into Gemina I realized just HOW wrong I was.

Nik Malikov is literal perfection? Hannah Donnelly is such a kick-ass character. Although at first she seemed like a stuck-up spoiled girl. But as you read she loses so much dear to her and she grows so much as a person. And in general she was just SO badass.

This book introduced so many amazing new characters, and even if I didn’t love all of them they were all so complex. Also some characters from the first book where in this one too- like Kady, Ezra, and AIDAN. I think that’s all I need to say on that topic.

And can we talk about the illustrations? More specifically Hanna’s diary entries. They were gorgeous. I loved the format of the first book, but the added drawings from Hanna’s journal added so much to this story.

The amount of emotional truama this book caused is honestly just kind of embarrassing at this point. Can’t wait to read the next one!!
