Just. Wow.
I didn't know it would be possible for me to like the new characters in this book even more that the ones from the first book. I mean, seriously? Hanna? BADASS. Nik? DON'T EVEN GET ME STARTED.

I have a crush on Nik, not gonna lie. Tattoos.. all-black outfits.. DIMPLES..
Sorry for the caps but I feel like I'm on a book-high or something after reading this. The characters were diverse. Their stories were captivating. The whole atmosphere this book creates feels like a car ride on a highway and every once in a while you gotta step on the freaking brake TO BREATHE IN AND NOT HAVE A PANIC ATTACK because everything's moving so fast but at the same time it's so exhilarating. Again.. sorry for the caps.

I'm in love with this series. I can't wait to read the last book and I'm sad I'm probably going to have to wait until fall until it comes out.

Honorary mentions: Ella, Jax, I. G. (don't want to spoil anything but if you read the book, you know who I mean), AIDAN, Cerberus.. All of them such profound characters. Also, Mr Biggles II.

Edit: "I'm probably going to have to wait until fall".. Yeah right.. It comes out MARCH 2018! WHAT THE HECK. Whyyyyy (sry for caps)

What a fantastic follow up to Illuminae.

Hanna and Nik are both such interesting characters, just as Katy and Ezra were in the first book. I also like that, unlike Katy and Ezra, Hanna and Nik start off with a different type of relationship. Nik is a bad boy and Hanna is the commander's daughter. Their interactions at the beginning are strained because of his interest in her and she not being interested. I love how they start to grow and become a team and closer as the events start to take shape. The story wasn't predicable and actually had me worried and sad for many of the characters as the story continued on.

Again I enjoyed the style in which the story is formatted. Told through journal entries, text messages, memos and etc, the story flows in such a fast-paced and natural way it is nearly impossible to find a stopping point and put the book down. Every time you get to the end of one section, it flows right into the next one and you just have to keep reading in order to see what's going to happen next.

Sad that I have to wait so long for the next installment, but already know it will be worth the wait.

I’m OBSESSED with this series now. I love the format of the books, the characters, the plot… what more can I say than that this series is mind blowing, captivating and much more.

I loved how this book tied into the previous and how the story progressed.

Wow. This book was amazing and I’m not sure what else I can say that has not been said by others. But I will try.
To be honest I wasn’t sure if I would like this book as much as book one because we follow other characters, BUT yes I loved it. The more I got to get to know them the more I loved them and there were even a few similarities between them. Plus we still hear from our old crew and really in the end it all comes together with a big bang.
I loved pretty much everything about this book , the only tiny, really tiny thing that I didn’t like was the weird alien like creature thingys, I just didn’t see a real purpose to them.
No surprise, I loved Hannah, Nik and Ella . Each had their own set of problems but I loved them all even more for that and their really worked through their sh#t.
This book for sure will keep you on the edge of your seat and glued to the pages or headphones. You will get a little of everything humor, snark, betrayal romance and a whole lot of action. Pretty much nonstop action with some of the biggest plot twists I have a read in a long time. This book or series really is pure genius and I can recommend it .
I also started the audiobook with this book so that was even a better experience and I’m glad I did it was fantastic and with being able to look at the pages it was just an overall epic read.
I cannot wait to see what Kaufman and Kristoff will throw at us in the third in final book.
Overall, all I can really say that I loved, loved this book and rate it a full 5★
