Afterlove is a beautiful and yet sad love story. I knew I would love this book as soon as I picked it up from the first chapter I was hooked!
The characters are to die for and the love story between Ash and Poppy is so pure and raw, and all consuming as with all our first love stories it is them against everything.
I enjoyed the pace and how the story was set out with love and after. Where you grow so attached to Ash and Poppy and their life together and the dreams of their future. Only to be left heartbroken when we transcend to the after portion of the book.
I think Byrne has done an excellent job at portraying the realm of reapers and after death. Done in a way that is easy to understand and doesn't bog you down in the nitty gritty of it all.
They only thing that I found was I wish that we could have seen more of Ash grieving over her friends and family. She so passionately wanted to see Poppy again but seemed to get over the fact that she left her family behind pretty quickly. And they didn't cross her mind much at all for the rest of the book.
I would recommend this book for anyone who loves a hopeless romantic and a beautiful love story with a hint of paranormal.
