I would have liked more character depth and development. It was an okay story. I feel a bit off because the story and the blurb don't exactly match up.

This was the first erotic book I've ever read. I read this book because it was free on Amazon and it was short. I liked it, but they made random parts of the story erotic and that was weird. I felt like there was a little bit of a weird flow to the story.

Making Her Melt was an ok novella. Though, I don't feel that the novella form was the right choice for the story that was trying to be told. I was engaged enough with the story, and in part with the characters, but I felt that there was a lack of depth to the characters and a glossing over of events. Most of the time, things were being told, but there was little showing in the novella. Also, because the characters weren't given time to develop, I felt that their actions didn't feel natural or unnatural as I read them. They mainly felt out of place and awkward because from paragraph to paragraph things wouldn't seem to fit together for them.

I think that there's a good story in here, but maybe if it was written with the intent of being a novel, the author could have satisfied me a little more. There's another book set in the town of Dearling, Texas (which the reader only gets a minimal glimpse of here) and I might check it out to see what Lin does with a novel. I'm a fan of small town settings, and maybe that will be more to my liking.

Even though I didn't really enjoy this one much, it was a fast read, and I know there are readers who'll enjoy it more than I did for a short afternoon read. There's definitely something to it that kept me reading.
