A very realistic depiction of grief, not horribly predictable, and good clean romance.

I'm not a huge fan of second chance romances. Or dual time/when the main character's past story is being told in conjunction with the current story. Or books about the grieving process. And yet, despite all this (it's probably a good thing I didn't really look at what the book was about before I picked it up), Nicole Deese swept me in and didn't let me go until I closed the book. And even now, I'm pretty sure I'm going to think about this book for awhile. Elegantly written, with beautiful imagery and heart-wrenching emotion, it is a story for the ages.

this was so freaking perfect. i loved it. it was like a hot cup of cocoa on a cold evening. or a long, warm hug. made me cry, smile. It was a story of grief, struggles and secrets, yet healing and redemption; a nostalgic retelling of the past; the power of friendships and family. The storyline was so intricately beautiful. I wish more words were coming to describe my thoughts rn

This treasure hunt is filled with overcoming grief, friendship, forgiveness, challenged loyalties. Keeps you turning the pages.

2.5⭐️ This was a bit of a snooze and I won’t be reading book #2. Shaken by her best friend’s death, she peruses her dreams of being an editor. After several years away, her former lost love, cousin to her friend, comes to invite her to a birthday ceremony. Her husband pork forced her to attend as she published a series from her friend and the last book is missing.

She reconnects with people from the past, learns the truth about her alcoholic father and his passing along with rekindling with her former love.  Seems good in concept but the writing was just meh.
