Although this book is classified as science fiction it felt more like historical fiction with some science fiction added here and there. The story jumps between two time periods, the WWII time period and the present day. I found it hard to follow at times because the plot went off on wacky/funny tangents and then jumped to another character or time. Overall it was an interesting read with lots nerdy descriptions of computers, encoding etc.

Very dry dull and too slow paced for a fiction novel

Man did it drag on at times. On enough occasions I didn't actually feel inclined to pick it up because I knew I was in for a lot of verbosity and jargon for relatively little actual content. Still, the story is quite interesting
Spoiler, even if it had to be pulled together by someone who's effectively immortal

Ce projet de lecture de vacances était fort divertissant et exceptionnellement nerd. Juste du plaisir. Il manquait seulement quelqu'un pour m'applaudir ce matin en me disant "that was a really big book".

This book really needed a good ending, but instead, it just sort of fizzled out. Disappointing.
