Excellent. Very philosophical/human stories set against unique, intriguing and different scifi universes (a couple in the same universe). A nice taste of many different ideas. Up there with Ted Chiang! (Though the scifi is much harder)

It only takes one Greg Egan in this universe to create short stories that combine neuroscience, cellular automatas, the Cantor dust, reflections about consciousness, wormholes, free will, and time-reversed galaxies... I do not even have the words, I simply adored it.

Excellent collection of sci-fi short fiction, told in the key of Philip K. Dick but with much better characters and dialogue. Some of the ideas presented in this collection are haunting and seem day-after-tomorrow possible; Egan seasons his stories with just the right amount of science and technology to give the reader a sense of realism amidst the unfolding dystopia.

Some really good stories in here, mixed with a few ok ones and only one or two clunkers. My favorites are:

Axiomatic
The Safe Deposit Box.
A Kidnapping
The Walk
Into Darkness
Appropriate Love
The Moral Virologist.


That's a pretty good list for any collection
