Very well written book about high schoolers at a southern Christian school who are trying to figure out their gender, sexual orientation, and friendship while trying to adhere to expectations of the town. A scavenger hunt leads the main character through this plot.

For the first like 2/3 of the book I absolutely hated Sarah and the book was hard to read for me, as it was a lot about her. But after that portion when we get to know her and the author allows us to understand her, I fell in love with the character. Amazing book. I recommend :)

I found it hard to root for the main couple just because they were both kinda awful people, and I really didn’t like Chloe as the lead character (but that may be due to the audiobook).

But I really liked how McQuiston wrote the friendships and developed the characters.

Not too bad for a YA romance, and not too bad for my first Casey McQuiston novel.

This was a little dry but once I got into it I was swept into the mystery of Shara and those around her. I also thought Chloe was a bit self centered but I really loved her friends and her moms and I thought it was all really sweet. I also like that everyone got their happy ending (for now at least)
