Slow, tedious, and overly self-pittying at the beginning, the book grew on me over time. I think I'd recommend reading the first few few chapters at 1.5 speed. But overall, I really enjoyed it, and I would love to see more poly books like this

This book starts off quite dull and heavy handed but picks up pace once Charlie starts to show some 3-dimensional and more admirable personality traits.  It turns into a heartwarming ode to queerness, polyamory, leftist organizing, and found family.  Clumsy at times but I’m glad it exists.

I really enjoyed this audiobook however I thought there was too much of a focus on the many side stories (work, old roommates, parents, etc) and I wished there had been more focus on the romance. Also, unless Charlie was previously polyam (I don't remember that being said) I think there would've been more internal questions about a potential polyamorous romance (as someone who has had polyam relationships). I did like that Charlie's AGAB wasn't revealed - I thought that was a clever and creative choice by the author.

pretty cute. enjoyed this even as someone who doesn’t regularly read romance. some parts were a little too on the nose for me but i’m not mad at it, plus there’s no reason everything has to be realistic. 🤷🏾‍♂️ i also really appreciated the enby character never having their assigned gender mentioned or even hinted at. the romance itself wasn’t horrible, they all had chemistry but i found this to be more of a nice comfy read about found family & the importance of community.

If you're tired of cut and paste stories, this book is great. It was unique in a lot of ways. 1. It's about found family, but the MC originally had a found family that wasn't great and ended up being ousted from the group kind of. That isn't something shown in a lot of books. 2. The romance was between 3 people, which isn't rare but also I haven't seen it in many books published by the big companies. 3. There's a lot of minor characters and side stories that, even though minor, are also shown to be important to their overall story. Overall, this book was very enjoyable and unique and I look forward to reading Markus Harwood-Jones's future books.
