Parfois un peu facile et rapide, mais distrayant

Hi great story, I love dragon romance and can't wait to read the next books in the series. The audiobook was good, the narrators did a good job and I really enjoyed it.

A powerful, beautiful story of love and magic. Raven Tanglewood is dying. After years of battling brain cancer, the 23 year old is out of options - until a mysterious stranger appears in her hospice room one night and promises to cure her if she'll agree to work for him.
Gabriel Blakemore is an urbane, sexy antiques dealer with a mystical secret. As an exiled dragon, he has lived on Earth for more than 300 years, separated from his siblings and the land they grew up on, thanks to a hostile coup. Cursed by a voodoo priestess in New Orleans, he's desperate for Raven's help to save his life before Mardi Gras. As the two struggle against the evil forces, their passion for each other grows and Raven discovers a power lying dormant within her.
I loved every second of this story, the author has a magnificent way of writing that draws you into her world and paints vivid images of loveliness, passion, and the mystical. I'll definitely be reading the rest of this series!

Very blah. First of all the audiobook narrator, Rock Engle, is horrible! The way he narrated it made everything over the top and ridiculous. I hated his New Orleans accent also.

The story line was just no very riveting and I put it down three times in favor of other books before finally returning to finish this one.

An enjoyable read even though certain concepts and plot points are not as developed as they could have been.

2.5 stars. I was entertained but the plot moved too fast (whole thing in less than 2mo!) for it to feel plausible. Good and steamy with a nice blend of wait-for-it and yay

This book had some really good moment but also very annoying moments. There were a lot of inconsistencies with the timeline. The main character made a lot of stupid decisions that just felt forced in order to create drama and tension.

This was a right mess. It started well but as soon as the real "plot" (and I'll have to use that term loosely here) started, there was very little that made sense.

The characters are flat and stereotypical. There were so many instances of unnatural speech that should have been removed. The hand-holding from the author was so extreme. I haven't come across this level of over-explaining things to the reader, especially basic things that everyone already knows, for a long time.

Examples: explaining that hair curls straightening out makes it look longer. That the "pit" in a club means the area in front of the stage.

It's just insulting how stupid the reader is thought to be.

This book doesn't seem to know what it's trying to do. It tries to do so many things that nothing is done properly. It's a shifter romance, no wait, it's a portal fantasy, oh sorry it has time travel; hold on, magic and demons...voodoo? Curses? I'm sure I'm forgetting a few things, but you get my point.

If you need a case study in telling instead of showing, this is the book for you. Lack of logical progression too. Otherwise, not worth it.
