Loved the narrator being the ex boyfriend. I really flew through this one.
Complete redemption after Ghosts.

I went into this with nearly no information other than knowing it's by Dolly Alderton. Otherwise, I would have known this book isn't for me. Not really a fan of male comedians or Britian. The section by Jen was the most interesting part, however I realistically wouldn't have loved an entire book about her either, but that is the part I would find myself returning to. Still, my heart does ache a bit from the book. Maybe I'll return to it when I'm in my thirties with more appreciation.
I can't tell if Dolly doesn't know her audience, or if she was purposely giving us a POV we wouldn't like (Andy).

What a good book to read over my thirtieth birthday. I loved Andy but I hated him, I felt for Jen but I also wanted to tell at her to communicate more. Everyone is messy and happy and unhappy and confused and if that's not a good snapshot of what adult relationships are, I don't know what is.

If this is how men actually are, it leaves me with very little hope for them. The main character Andy mostly just mopes around and says “poor me” while doing very little self reflection or actual work on himself. I wish the author had leaned more into the random funny things that he does/experiences as those were the only interesting parts of this book. I also didn’t care much for his ex Jen. Her outlook on relationships felt very depressing. All in all, it felt like a very bleak depiction of relationships/ being alone.
