It has been a few weeks since the conclusion of this series and I will admit, the more I think about it, the more I feel… unsatisfied? There was one or two scenarios (dues ex machina) in which it was this miracle they got lucky and gathered important information—for example, Lyra (I felt that was unnecessary), Ellis changing sides, and Gabriel’s constant visions throughout the series seemed to be an easy way out for most scenarios and came off as almost lazy writing. I understand he is the most powerful seer of their generation but there is such a thing as too much foresight. There were plot holes and some unfinished storylines by the epilogue and I don’t know how to feel.

I have not read the sequel series so I cannot say if there is resolution at some point or acknowledgement but there were so many questions once the final epilogue was over. I intend to read DP but ultimately feel that we were jilted in the conclusion of this story. I wish I felt more satisfied after a few weeks but it makes me more sad than anything else. I truly enjoyed this series and this ending is not enough for me to turn anyone away from it, but they could have tied up more than a few of these loose ends and still had the ending we all wanted. My heart hurts and I just had to write an update for this.

I have been an avid reader for over a decade, living my life through the pages of books. I have fallen in love, fought battles, grown into powers, bowed to crowns, built families, died for justice, and so much more. I have laughed and cried alongside so many characters for so long.

When I began this series, I never imagined the love I would have for it. It went on for so very long. But, through the trials and tribulations of the twins, the growth of our Heirs, the countless deaths and reunions, the fighting for justice and love and equality and revenge… we have finally reached been gifted this conclusion.

I reread the series in preparation for this finale and I have to be honest, I cannot imagine it going any other way. Yes, it could’ve been shorter and we could have gone without a few POVs and side stories, but ultimately I don’t believe it makes a difference. Zodiac Academy rose up and fell down, over and over again, just like our True Queens and this ending was exactly as it should have been. I have fallen in love with these characters and their lives in these pages; I wish I could start it all over again to experience their story again.

If you are struggling through, please push forward, just like Tory and Darcy do. Be as courageous, reckless, infuriating, righteous, and selfish as them and take this story for your own. Live it, laugh with it, hate it, cry about it—just take it all and be changed forever.

This book was a wild ride. Im sad that its over but im happy they all got to where they are now.

Only thing I wish had happened was Vard getting what he deserved by the twins. I also wish Lionel had a more terrible ending but at least hes gone now lol.

Definitely recommend this series to anyone who likes to torture themselves

Oh wow it's been a wild chaotic ride through the world of solaria and the end was everything I wanted it to be. I think the book wrapped up all loose ends that I wanted wrapped for sure. The differing POVs during battle was getting me so emotional 🥹 I also enjoyed the last few chapters iykyk ☺️

Finally finished with this series. I don’t think I’ll ever read anything again from this author duo.
