My 9 year old loved this, but he did also stop me several times to mention plotholes. We do read a lot, and sometimes probably above his grade level, but I do think it’s significant to note that he took issue with the validity of certain things.

what a sweet gem of a book! always lovely to read a new(ish) book that reminds me so strongly of the books I loved myself as a kid. very Penderwicksy in that regard!
