Uramichi Oniisan perfectly portraits all my fears of working in a job I despise after graduating from university just in order to make ends meet and I feel like I have been scammed by society's expectations.
Would recommend reading if you feel hopeless, tired or stressed out. It will motivate you to work harder haha. (*cries in corner*)

This book takes the things we sometimes want to say to the children (and others) in our lives, when the obligation is to plaster a smile over every negative emotion.
Instead of finding humor in this book to put it simply I was left feeling incredibly uncomfortable. I don't know if it's because I'm worried I'm going to one day become dead inside or if it's just that the humor isn't hitting the same because I am dead inside...

As an ex-preschool teacher, the nihilism and cynicism of Uramichi Oniisan coupled with his cheerful but filterless masking, resonated so deeply within me that it used my red blood cells as boats to travel around my circulatory system.

This is millennial humour at its finest. Unlike generations before us, we're not here to sugarcoat reality. There is literally no meaning to anything, at any time. This was also the first manga I had read in a while that viscerally made me laugh every couple of pages.

Give me more existentialism any day, thanks. I'm ready to devour the next 3 omnibus editions.

Where do I start? One of my favorite comedies of all time. Hilarious cast, dark humor, relatable struggles, lots of heart, great artwork... A relaxing and funny yet moving plot... I love this series.
