I really liked this book, but it got long on me. I felt it easily could have been 200 pages shorter. I was definitely not a Nesta fan going into this one, but she grew on me.

This book is everything!!!

i absolutely love nesta so much, she has my heart. i hated how mor suggested nesta would enjoy the court of nightmares, knowing how they abuse and r4pe women. i have loved mor every other book, but after her saying that i can’t handle her, that is disgusting :c. i am so glad nesta eventually found peace and her own family

I was a bit wary, going into this one. Nesta was definitely not one of my favourite characters during the original trilogy, so I wasn't sure whether I was going to like reading from her POV for 750 pages. I also didn't know what to think about the change in SJM's writing choices. I get that she wanted to differentiate this from Feyre's story by picking a third person POV, but I had to get used to it. I did like the fact that it switched between Nesta and Cassian. It took me a couple of chapters to get the hang of it, but after a while it just felt normal. I was happy to still read about the rest of the Inner Circle and there were quite some plottwists concerning them, especially Feyre & Rhys. It did feel a bit weird to read about
SpoilerFeyre's complicated and dangerous pregnancy
from Nesta's & Cassians POV and to not read Feysands thoughts on the matter. I mean, sure, we got conversations about it, but it's not exactly the same.

Even though the first half of the book was a bit rough because I still didn't really like Nesta that much, the story itself was intriguing enough to keep reading. Even though there's not THAT much action, the story is still very captivating and I really enjoyed reading it. And, yes, I have to admit that I started liking Nesta. Slowly but surely. She's still not my favourite character, but I get why she acted the way she did and I really feel like she's changed a lot during ACOSF. She's grown as a person, overcoming her trauma, finding her own way and her own friends. Emerie and Gwyn were definitely a breath of fresh air and they are a great addition to the rest of the characters!

The slowburn between Nesta and Cassian was fantastic and definitely satisfying. I really like them as a ship. So yes, Nessian is great, but... they're not Feysand. Sorry, I said what I said. Feysand supremacy.
