I’m officially a Nesta simp! I never hated her, but she wasn’t my favorite, until this book!
I love her journey, & her growth throughout the book, there’s just so much I could say! But basically she is a badass female!
Also, Emerie & Gwyn! I love The trios dynamic! And how they’re there for each other! Let’s go Valkyrie’s!! There are some badass females in this book!!
And Cassian! *dreamy* 🥰
I love his story & getting to hear his side of the journey too! And him & Nesta! Damn! 🔥 #NessianForLife
This whole series has captured my heart!!! I can’t wait for the next book!!! 💜

Loved Nesta’s journey. Cassian and Az continue to delight. Weird to see Rhys and Feyre reduced to background characters, but it worked. The friendship between Nesta and other characters (and the house!) was really sweet. The development of those friendships was as important as the romance plot. It was such a fun detail to have Nesta and the others reading smutty romance. Speaking of which, the spice in this book - much better than the previous couple in the series. Holds up to CoMaF. *fans self*  I hope we see Azriel’s, Elain’s and Mor’s stories (and maybe some combo of those) in future books. I am dying to know what happens to Elain and I am sure I am not alone in not loving a possible Lucian OTP and wondering about a possible why choose situation…

I agree with other reviewers that the plot is not perfect and sometimes unnecessarily convoluted but it really was an enjoyable read. 5 stars doesn’t mean perfection, but reflects more on my experience of reading it and if I would recommend to friends with similar interests.

This was not just a story of healing, but for me, it was healing itself.  It feels silly to say, but it genuinely shifted my perspective on the relationships in my life.  Not to mention it had some pretty fire spice.  Not everything ended the way I wanted, but I think that was part of the point and it helped me come to peace with that.

I hope this wasn't marketed as YA, because the spicy bits are 🔥. I like these MCs better than in previous novels, and I really enjoy the focus on character development. The meta is there, but more in the background than a focus point for the main part of the book.

The only thing I missed was
that we didn't get to see the mating ceremony in the end. And the... consummation part of the evening.

I loved hearing more about Nesta and Cass. The story line was fun and the character arc was great. But the smut just yanked me away from the story. It didn’t feel intentional or woven in at all. I have no issue with graphic scenes, but the majority of these ones felt awkward, forced. But this book made me understand Nesta more, which is what I wanted from the series.

I don't even know where to begin. Fuck this book. I have never, in all my years of reading, been so genuinely disappointed and frustrated with a book the way I was with this one. I fell in love with the ACOTAR series last year, and I've been having so much fun with it, but this book and the way it was written just left such a bad taste in my mouth. Everything I love about ACOTAR and it's characters were completely destroyed by a weak plot with an insufferable fmc that had shitty redemption and development. I admit, I already didn't like Nesta before, but I was actually had high hopes for her story and wanted to see why she was the way she was, and how she was going to fix her relationship with her sisters, especially Feyre, whom she's been awful to practically theri whole lives.

And yet, there was none of that. What I got was an absolute pornfest with cringy YA girlboss scenes and dialogues. Nesta and Cassian practically lost all the depth and chemistry they had in the previous books where they weren't even the main couple, mind you, and Nesta was given two strangers that became her replacement sisters, and allowed her to shove aside her issues with her actual sisters. Not to mention, every other character from the series was done so dirty and written in an uncharacteristically bad light in hopes of boosting Nesta's likeability, which didn't even fucking work.

And no, don't tell me that because it was in her point of view, it means that we are finally seeing Feyre, Rhysand and the Inner Circle for who they are and that the "rose tinted glasses" that Feyre "wore" in her point of view were gone. I think it's bullshit. A clear excuse to deflect how mischaracterized everyone else was, even Nesta, and how their personalities and dynamics were ruined in favor of furthering her conflict with them and advancing the "plot" of the book in the most lazy half-assed way. I'm so done.

This book was fantastic — even the slower parts had me hooked. The twists, the turns, the tears, the laughs, the spice! Some plot points were predictable but I loved it so much I didn’t care. I always thought book two would be my tried and true — but this one takes the cake. I loved reading about Nesta and seeing her growth and I loved seeing her and Cassian’s storyline unfold on the pages.
Nesta’s a badass and saves the day like we all knew she would!!!
