Nesta is a great character. I’m also a big fan of Cassian.

I hate Rhysand in this book.  Being so shitty to Nesta who is clearly suffering, being stupid enough to make a “I’ll die when you die” pact with Feyre, and worst of all: lying to Feyre about her own body/health after being so adamant about always giving her a choice in her own fate, this soured his entire character for me. He decided for her what she could handle and then Feyre forgives him pretty quickly. Both felt out of character and gross. Rhysand also treats most of his loved ones like shit in this book and it’s written off because “it’s instinct for him to be overprotective of his mate especially while she’s pregnant blah blah blah” and everyone forgives him. But Nesta is constantly in her own personal hell and acts gruffly to those around her and they all treat her like shit.

I really struggled to get into this book because Feyre is no longer the main character, instead it's Nesta. We get a bit of  a glimpse of post-war Nesta in a Court of Frost and Starlight, but we really get to see who Nesta is in this book. It took about 200 pages at least for me to really begin to enjoy the book, because Nesta is just SO miserable in the beginning. However, I think it's really important for the readers to understand that Nesta isn't mean and miserable and defiant because she wants to be, but because she's really struggling with her own mental health, and is afraid to let anyone get close again.
Once I got into this book, I began to INHALE it. The reintroduction of the Valkyries? Hell yes. Empowering battered women to be able to stand up for themselves and defend themselves if needed? Loved it. The very spicy scenes and the love interest? I'm drooling. The plot was amazing, with Rhys, Feyre, Cassian, and Azriel recovering from the war, only to find a new enemy and artifacts, which only Nesta has the power to find. That was a brilliant way to bring Nesta into the fold of the court, even begrudgingly, and to enable the court to begin to see her in a new light.
No worries for anyone who is afraid that Feyre won't be present in the story, she definitely is, but is more of a side character here. But she is still present and as lovely and lovable and fierce as ever. I'm super excited for the next book and what new perspectives that offers.

This book took me forever to get through. It was a great storyline, and I loved Nesta’s development, but it drug on. Lots of spice in this one, if that’s your cup of tea. I’m interested to see how Maas continues the series and if she ties in her other universes to this one.

OH??? MY???? GODDDDDD??????????? i am so unwell. i am CRYINGGGGG in the airport right now. the ending of this book makes me want to scream and cry with joy like i have no words for what to put here. this is genuinely one of the best books i’ve ever read. at first, i was a little nervous because the main focus wasn’t on feyre and rhys, it was on feyre’s firey sister who i never really liked UNTIL NOWWWW. nesta was such a baddie and i absolutely adored her development throughout this whole book. i cannot count on the fingers of both hands of mine the amount of times i slapped my hand to my mouth out of surprise due to a plot twist, or a sad moment, or a feisty comment by nesta. sarah j. maas put her whole soul into this book and we LOVE HER FOR ITTTT!!! i felt every single emotion possible in this book, which was such a pleasant surprise considering my original biases going into it! absolute 100/10 recommend and READ THIS ASAP AND LET ME KNOW WHAT YOUR THOUGHTS AREEEEE!!!!!

loved the other books in this series, but I found myself many times during this book going, “Is it bad that I like this one most?” I felt like I was betraying Feyre and Rhys, the OG main characters!

This book resonated with me on an even deeper level than the others had and I cannot even express how thankful I am to have read it. It has inspired to take better care of myself, exercise, and practice mindfulness, all things that are difficult because of my anxiety. I am thankful to have found a character like Nesta, who despite her own struggles,
has learned how to live
.

If you don’t like books that graphically talk about sex, this book is not for you (but I doubt you even got to this point because the first ACOTAR books had it too). This book was the most graphic when it came to sex, and the most abundant. I loved how female sexuality was handled.

My favorite part of this book was the relationships. Obviously, Nesta and Cassian. NESTA, GWYN, AND EMERIE. THE HOUSE?! O m f g. Now all we need is Emerie and Mor to get together and Elaine and Az!!!!!!
