Seduced by the Game is a hockey anthology with eight novellas from leading authors. Each author uses their own style in order to create a great book that spotlights both hockey and cancer.

Toni Aleo’s novella is a prequel to one of her future books, and she was really able to give a glimpse of what it is like for a breast cancer survivor while showcasing college hockey.

Cassandra and Cindy Carr’s novella details the quest of an NHL player in his search for love. I really liked the way that the two characters responded to each other during the uncertainness of a budding relationship.

Jami Davenport gives a fun read on professional party crasher Izzy and Cooper. The contrast between the two personalities was interesting to read and it was also a part of her new series, which will be interesting to read.

Catherine Gayle’s novella was an emotional read about a young girl with cancer who is trying to survive. It was a story that really stuck, and you can’t help but what a very happy ending and it also gave insight to some of the other players in her current Portland Storm series.

I loved the female lead in Jaymee Jacobs’ novella, who is very self-assured and has created a career in a man’s world while still remaining feminine. Although the two lead characters make mistakes along the way they are still able to come together in the end.

V. L. Locey’s novella is a M/M story and I liked how she really gave you a glimpse of the angst of change on the part of an older player as well as the issues that one may have to deal with due to their sexuality.

Bianca Sommerland’s novella is a prequel to her Dartmouth Cobras and it provided the development of the romance between Tim and Madeline. There is some BSMD but it is done in a way that is really pushes their relationship to the next level.

Nikki Worrell’s novella is a prequel to her NHL Scorpions series, and she is able to provide really likable characters that you find yourself rooting for their happily ever after.

Overall each author was able to provide a great story in their own style, which gives you eight different stories in one place.

Toni Aleo-I have not read any of the series so this was a new author for me. I sometimes struggle with anthologies but this was a really nice short story. I loved the touched idea of a family struggling through dealing with loss and breast cancer. Definitely an idea, I don't come across a lot in stories I read. People usually read to get away from life's ordeals so this was an eye opener. Overall entertainment value is four stars. I will more than likely pick up the first book in this series. The covers remind me of Jaci Burton's series with sport stars.
Cassandra Carr- this was a new author as well, and I found some of her book to be completely humorous.
Favorite line: what do you want to sleep in....
Answer: you, I want to sleep in you
So definitely an author that I am going to watch.
Overall entertainment value, three stars.
Jami Davenport- fresh new face for me as well. I really REALLY loved this book. Unique fresh idea with the party crashers idea. The erotic parts were very good, and I loved the humorous angle as well.
Catherine Gayle- wow! As I wipe the tears from my eyes, I am immensely glad I got to read that story, from beginning to end. Very heartfelt! Best in the book soooo far. Four stars!
Jaymee Jacobs - couldn't write a summary for this one without spoilers....
V.L. Lovey- gay erotic, loved the scenes in this one. Continued in another book. Five stars
Bianca Sommerland- slight BDSM element, another one that is part of a larger series. I couldn't really get into this one because I didn't know the series. Three stars.
Nikki Worrell - this short story starts off as another player gets traded, but loved the glossary of hockey terms!

I received an Free copy to review this book and give my honest opinion. Most of these authors have written stories that go along with a series that they have written. So if your familiar with there work, this book is really worth it. If your not familiar with any of these authors I still say it's worth it because I found a few of these short stories worth pursuing more books by the author. Thanks.

This is a collection of books and it got the three stars because of TONI ALEO otherwise...some books in this were just horrible and not interesting at all.
