I was sucked in within the first page. I enjoyed the divergent series but I loved this book even more than that!
Sometimes you just gotta do what you gotta do, this book is literally the biggest garbage I was ever faced with, sloppy characters,forced chemistry, hideous names and just a pain in the ass. Veronica Roth?More like Veronica Not.
I was pleasantly surprised with this book. While it didn't get the reviews I was expecting, I actually enjoyed reading about this new world and its characters. Carve the Mark did seem to be pretty different than the Divergent series, so if that is what fans expect that is probably why their ratings are low. Carve the Mark reminds me more of The Bone Season by Samantha Shannon which I absolutely loved. I am excited to see what happens with Akos and Cyra and now that

we know that Cyra is not a Noavek and that Lazmet Noavek is alive, I am intrigued to see what the sequel brings.

Mi è piaciuto molto questo libro e i due personaggi principali, la storia è interessante e ancora ricca di misteri che non vedo l’ora di scoprire nel prossimo volume. Uniche due “pecche” che mi sento di nominare:
1. ad un certo punto mi è sembrato che i personaggi si fossero dimenticati del potere di Akos, usandolo avrebbero potuto svolgere meglio il loro compito.
2. Mi ha un po’ infastidito il fatto che le parti di lei fossero in prima persona e quelle di lui in terza... non ho apprezzato molto questo cambio di narrazione, specialmente perché mi sarebbe piaciuto entrare più in empatia con Akos che è il mio personaggio preferito ad ora.

OH MY GOD. This book had me hooked once I actually started reading it. I would not put it down, and when I did I thought about the story and how much I couldn’t wait to dive right back in. I actually enjoyed this story more than Divergent and I really enjoyed Divergent. Definitely excited to read The Fates Divide. I do suggest having both so you can start The Fates Divide right after finishing Carve the Mark, as I currently have to wait on The Fates Divide for a little bit sadly.
