What can I say. Besides the slow beginning, the rest of it was amazing. I don't particularly love sci-fi but damn. This one.
I loved Cyra, her vulnerability in her strength, Akos and his loyalty, his seeing the good things inside of a what was denominated a "monster", even Ryzek. His character was amazingly built, Veronica created a perfect piece of c***.
The rebels, the spaceship and so on.

If I had to pick the worst character ever in this story, you would probably think that I'd choose Ryzek.
Wrong. I pick Sifa, the Oracle and Akos's mom.

A fost prima carte SF citita de mine, dar a fost un complet dezastru. A început cu un capitol foarte plictisitor, cu descrieri inutile. Ma asteptam sa vad mai multa descrie a spațiului, ținând cont ca a fost o carte SF, dar parea ca in orice moment ar putea zice ca se trezesc în Londra. După câteva alte pagini plictisitoare, a apărut Cyra cu o putere foarte original creata. Personajul negativ a fost o porcărie, nu am simțit nici macar o secunda ca el ar fi cineva rau, ci doar un adolescent cu probleme serioase. Povestea a continuat ridicol de previzibil, cu doi oameni care se îndrăgostesc și blah blah blah. Mi-am dorit de la cartea asta putina drama, sa moara cineva, sa rămâna cineva cu cicatrice și fie mai multa răzbunare, dar autoarea nu a ridicat cartea la potențialul ei adevărat. I-am dat doar 1 ⭐ pe Goodreads, iar singurul lucru care a fost interesant a fost puterea Cyrei.

One more thing, I don't get why people are talking BS that this book is racist and/or discriminating... (Veronica Roth posted an article about her thoughts on her book and I have to say that I totally agree with her)."

I even think that this book was way better than Divergent!!! The character development of Cyra was just INSANE, I have so much repect for her. She goes through a lot but she manages to stay strong. And Akos has also got problems (his bro e.g.), but he never loses hope. The "Romance between these 2 wonderful characters was just like a blooming flower, it eveloped just like I wanted it to.
All in all, I loved this book a lot and people should just stop being so pity and talking bullshit about this book.

Dacă nu citești glosarul de la final prima dată, e destul de greu să înțelegi începutul.
Personajele sunt puternice, pline de mister, planetele sunt absolut superbe...cartea aceasta are de toate! (Chiar și o hartă pentru cei cărora le plac hărțile).
Nu se citește mereu ușor fiindcă unele detalii devin plictisitoare și îți vine să sari direct la acțiune dar sunt necesare ca să înțelegi exact ce se întâmplă. Finalul e cumva sec dar și drăguț. Te face să vrei și volumul doi doar ca să te asiguri că Rizek moare
