Oh hey, booktube SJWs/Reader SJWs stop getting butthurt over a book if you're looking to get offended by what an author writes, and don't be a hypocrite if you say you'll never read any book by an author then you do. Looking pretty stupid while doing so.

Food for thought.

Anyway I enjoyed Carve the Mark, like her previous books I got engrossed in the world Veronica created and I look forward to the sequel, the mythos was interesting and Cyra and Akos may have their differences but that's what makes this book brilliant. Division and conflict can be portrayed how a writer wishes. It's their book afterall if division causes an alliance from unsuspecting characters and they grow from each other that is good. On a side note it#'s such a shame that readers are getting so offended by books. Seriously grow up.

That is all.

A summery for Carve the Mark:

In a galaxy powered by the current, everyone has a gift.

Cyra is the sister of the brutal tyrant who rules the Shotet people. Cyra’s currentgift gives her pain and power — something her brother exploits, using her to torture his enemies. But Cyra is much more than just a blade in her brother’s hand: she is resilient, quick on her feet, and smarter than he knows.

Akos is the son of a farmer and an oracle from the frozen nation-planet of Thuvhe. Protected by his unusual currentgift, Akos is generous in spirit, and his loyalty to his family is limitless. Once Akos and his brother are captured by enemy Shotet soldiers, Akos is desperate to get this brother out alive — no matter what the cost.
The Akos is thrust into Cyra's world, and the enmity between their countries and families seems insurmountable. Will they help each other to survive, or will they destroy one another?
Carve the Mark is Veronica Roth's stunning portrayal of the power of friendship — and love — in a galaxy filled with unexpected gifts.

omg the ending?? it just. stopped 😭 help i need to get the next book but omg THAT WAS SO GOOD I LOVED IT it was so much better than i thought it would be omg. i love the concept it’s so cool, and i actually understood it lol. also im surprised i did and liked the book because it’s a lot of political intrigue but it was great :0 i liked the writing style too it was easy to read.
akos and cyra :’) <33 they’re so cute ugh the slowburn was done so nicely and like they kissed pretty early on but it didn’t even feel too early? but ugh the enemies to friends to lovers. and it’s like the ‘you’re my only friend’ trope (ok writing it like that sounds sad but it’s like they’re each other’s best friends). idk what’s gonna happen to ryzek in the next book but i’m assuming he can’t die at least not straight away bc their dad is alive??? don’t know what that means and idk what will happen w cyra because if she’s not a noavek then… idk. oh and i loved all the names omg like firstly the people names especially cyra i love that and ryzek even though he’s the bad guy but also the names of planets and just other vocabulary lol. OMG SHOUTOUT TO THAT ONE SCENE where akos says two words one in shotet and one in thuvhesit and the one in thuvhesit means beloved 😭😭😭 couldve cried right there tbh that was so cute

This book took me a minute to get into but once I was in, I was hooked. I loved the interactions between Akos & Cyra, and all of the descriptions made me feel as if I was really living in this world. The one thing I didn't like was that all of Cyra's chapters were first person, but Akos' were not and that bugged me haha.
