All Systems Red written by Martha Wells produced by Graphic Audio is the dramatized adaptation of the first book in the Murderbot Diaries series of the same name, All Systems Red. This is the story of an android SecUnit named Murderbot who's hacked their governor module so they can watch their favorite show, or serial. Murderbot wants nothing more than to be left alone but when a mission goes sideways, they have to get involved with the humans they're there to protect.

I enjoyed the original novella, All Systems Red by Martha Wells. It was really interesting and a bit funny, I instantly liked Murderbot. The dramatized adaptation gives each character a voice actor and that adds so much charm to the story and the characters. I really enjoyed the story and the characters, it kind of makes me sad that
Murderbot decided to leave and journey to a new place alone, even though I understand the idea of them wanting to be free and not controlled in any way. I was just growing to like the crew of characters, but I know we'll meet new characters down the line.

Overall, the dramatized adaptation was entertaining, action filled, and funny. I enjoyed the time I spent listening to Murderbot and their crew of specialists. I'm excited to hear about what they get into next. I'm giving it 5 stars out of 5.

A fun short novel about a murderbot that gains free will and how it decides to use it. Great read!

'I don't know what I want. I said that at some point, I think. But it isn't that, it's that I don't want anyone to tell me what I want, or to make decisions for me." - Murderbot, 149

Such a great sci-fi nugget to find! I loved getting to know Murderbot as a character. (They're honestly so relatable; I too would like to just sit in my room, isolate myself from people's physical presence, and devour content.) World-building unfurls just enough to place you on this space survey mission without dumping a lot of unnecessary, rigid jargon on you. Next to Murderbot, my favorite character was probably Dr. Mensah. I'm hoping she'll make a reappearance later on in the series; however, after the ending I'm uncertain. One can hope. Sci-fi fans please read if you haven't already.

WOW I LOVED THIS! one of my goals this year is to venture outside of my comfort in the romance genre and only reading books that have a romance plot/subplot, and this was my first of the year. this series came highly recommended by two of my online friends, and they did not miss!! i truly loved this and immediately went and put the rest of the series on hold at my library. the narrator did such a great job & i really like being in murderbot's head. i'm looking forward to continuing this series & seeing where murderbot goes from here.

A wonderfully adventurous, funny book from the perspective of a security robot that just wants to watch its TV shows and be left alone (relatable). I laughed out loud numerous times as it begrudgingly needed to help and save the humans it's contractually obligated to protect, and how it eventually grew to like some of the humans- and even have a favorite!

Definitely looking forward to more Murderbot diaries!

i love murderbot, my autistic genderless secunit best friend. all it wants to do is watch tv and not talk to humans!
this novel reads like a science fiction narrative podcast, which i adore as a huge enjoyer of those. can’t wait to read more in the series!
