I rate this a 3.5. This was recommend to me by many people so I had high expectations. I wasn't sure if I was going to like this when I started but it turned out to be a really good read. The POV is “Murderbot” who is a half human half robot. It's a really interesting POV and I enjoyed seeing his prospective. I am looking forward to reading the next in the serious to see where the story goes.

One of my coworkers recommended this series to me because I have been in a big mood for fantasy and this is one of her favorites. Now, this is sci-fi, but she said that I would still enjoy it because it is lighter and more cozy sci-fi. This was a good recommendation for me because I sometimes struggle with denser fantasy and sci/fi. I also think it is very similar in vibes to the Monk and Robot series by Becky Chambers which I loved.

I think I will definitely continue with this series because it was a fun and short read. This is probably the first sci-fi book I have read that i genuinely enjoyed.

This was a genuinely funny SciFi book. It was quick. It was easy. There was a good plot. I'm really interested to keep following Murderbot's story. I relate to them (no gender) a little too much. Humans make me want to hide in corners and watch entertainment all day too.

Was reading this cuz its latter books were listed as being cozy. After watching Sunshine and seeing what space does to human bone structure, space stories tend to scare me more than comfort me-- and this book definitely did unease me-- BUT, I did enjoy reading it. I'll continue the series soon, hopefully!

This is a fun fast read. The premise is that a Murderbot has subverted its governing chip and watches entertainment feeds in its spare time, but still has a day job of protecting meatbags and occasionally, you know, murdering things. It's on a routine survey mission as security when things go sideways...
