Since I read this independently rather than guided through a curriculum, I'm not entirely sure what to think or what is important.
I felt bad for Daisy in the first few chapters but now that I've finished the book I strongly dislike her even disregarding the fact that she killed someone .
Nick says he has always disapproved of Gatsby but doesn't seem to mind his company throughout the story.
The descriptions of Wolfsheim and his men feel anti-Semitic and the few Black people in the story are only there as extras and don't play any importance to the story. This disappoints me but I suppose it is not uncommon for the period?
Jordan and Nick are the only tolerable characters who survive in the end.
I'm not well versed in classics but all the same this was an enjoyable quick read. I'm sure I'll reread it in the future and hopefully come to have a better understanding of it.

The Great Gatsby is my fav of the classics I had to read in school. Every now and again I will sit down and reread it. I enjoy it every single time. Although daunting at times, its a harsh but very real story that gets me every single time.
Graphic: Death and Infidelity
Minor: Abandonment, War, Racism, and Racial slurs
