I absolutely adored reading this! Bussi's writing is so engaging I found it difficult to stop reading.
I also liked the change of pov! It sometimes left me holding my breath and cursing at the sudden change, but it never took too long to get back to the character I wanted to know the most about.
Besides, the characters are fun. We get to know this large cast and form opinions about every one of them and they all felt so distinctive, so unique, that the revelation at the end of the book blew me away! I never, NEVER saw the ending coming. I was so mad about it! And at the same time, it's amazing. So amazingly clever.
In the end, this book is not much about a murder as it is about the tragedy of a life spent in a cage, a tragedy that felt incredibly real and heartbreakingly believable. It actually horrified me. I approached the end totally disillusioned, and yet again, this book managed to surprise me. It's truly so good when suddenly, there is light at the end of the tunnel; at last, a spark of hope.
Truly a fantastic read!

edit: upon reflection the ending was cool and clever despite the initial frustration so will change rating to 3 stars

one of the most frustrating endings I've read in a while!!!
removing a half star because of this and also because of the casual sexism - like even if it's just small things, I don't feel like we should have to tolerate and ignore them

رواية رائعة بنهاية غير متوقعة و عتبي عليها كثرة الأخطاء الإملائية التي أفسدت قليلًا متعة قراءتها
