Notes:
- I think this one went quite a bit over my head tbh.
- Quite challenging to read as there's very little tangible direction/description of the events between characters. The reader must interpolate the events from the metaphorical and lyrical prose, which is tricky. That said the prose was so so good!
- I liked the outline of the love story and the emotions it explored a lot: a new love (affair), being IN love, reprimanded for love, losing that love in the same way it was first gained (to a new affair).

While I can appreciate the writing, it was just wayyy too over the top for me. I found myself skim reading often. This might have been bad timing on my part since I just finished a prose-like book, but I found the other book (If you lie down in a field, she will find you there by Colleen Brown) so much more impactful because I wasn't trying to decipher each sentence like I was here. I think this was probably groundbreaking for the time (in content and writing) but reading it now was kind of boring.
