Tarana Burke

This book should absolutely be required reading for every middle school aged child and parent. As Tarana has said, #MeToo is a movement, not a moment. This memoir provides background, awareness, and resources that can be put into practice every where, every time, for everyone. By bravely sharing her story, Tarana has allowed others to bravely do so as well. Keep the conversation going.
I highly recommend picking up the audiobook version so you can hear Tarana's story in her voice.

For such a heavy topic, this was such an enjoyable book! I heard Tarana Burke speak on the We Can Do Hard Things podcast with Glennon Doyle, and immediately put this book on my list. It was actually a very fast read, I just took my time with it.

What a badass rockstar woman. This is an important story of how the Me, Too movement came to be. And also highlights all of the work still needed to protect young women.

SOOO gooooood

Very well written and heartfelt.  Not a book to be taken lightly.  Thank you, Tarana Burke for telling your story and for standing up for women and children especially black women and children.  You are an inspiration.

Raw and powerful, Burke bares her soul in this memoir, detailing influential life events that led her to working with, and supporting, BIPOC women and femme folx who are survivors of sexual violence. I highly recommend the audiobook, narrated by Burke herself!

Tw: sexual violence (repeated discussions, sometimes graphic, including involving minors)
