I actually really enjoyed this one. It's short, yes it could have maybe been longer, but ultimately it could have lost some of its charm.

A short quick read, perfect for any classic spooky fan

I suspect this could have easily been a 3-4 star read if it had been longer and generally more fleshed out (basically, if it was a novel). There were interesting concepts, characters, and setting but it all just fell short for me. I read a comment here that stated this was like a more sci-fi Frankenstein. Allow me to point out that Mary Shelley's Frankenstein is one of - if not - THE first sci-fi novel! You cannot be more sci-fi than Frankenstein! I digress...

That being said, this does make me excited to read Du Maurier's novels, especially based on the way she writes her settings.
