Incredible horror. I had to stop reading at multiple points because it was giving me anxiety attacks. Very much worth it. A beautifully narrated, brutal collection, all with the same thesis: we are here to hurt each other.

That being said, heed the trigger warnings, especially when it comes to
child sexual abuse, incest, and self-harm
.

Blood-soaked stories that operate on the assumption that the universe is a leat grinder, never differentiating between victim, perpetrator, or bystander.

What a brilliant little collection! Paula writes horror with a feminine touch. Her re-imagining of one of the most horrific homicides in modern history is clever and gleefully disturbing, revelatory and familiar. I'll be rereading that one in the near future!
