Picked this up after accidentally getting Kindle Unlimited and looking for anything interesting. I could imagine in a better mood I'd rate this 3 - it's certainly not *bad* but I didn't really find any standouts and there are a few very cliched/eyerolly ones. The conceit of being inspired by music can be kind of weird because it means some stories make very little sense without reference to the music, some are basically retellings of the lyrics, some have pretty much no connection at all. Nothing much to say, because all the stories are less than a page long it's a pretty fast read and nothing's too bad but it's not worth picking up especially.

I bought this book because an author whose novels I love compiled it and it’s raising money for a great charity. If I’m honest I wasn’t sure how much I would enjoy it as I’m not really a huge fan of short stories but this book may just have converted me because it is simply fabulous. The stories are all brilliant and even though they are all under one hundred words they have such power. I actually cried over two of them and nodded my head in recognition of the emotion in others. There is something for everyone in this compilation. I love how the stories are all inspired by songs and I now have many of the songs swirling around my head.

This book is one I will definitely read more than once and I’ll be recommending it to everyone I know. Go buy it; you won’t regret it!

Not really my thing, stories of 100 words, an OK book to dip in and out of I suppose!
