I realized that I haven’t been reading too much nonfiction this year, so when I saw this I was interested and, obviously, I picked it up.

Why Women Have Better Sex Under Socialism: And Other Arguments for Economic Independence by Kristen R. Ghodsee is quite literally what the title says it is — an argument as to why socialism allowed for greater economic freedom for women, and subsequently more fulfilling romantic and sexual relationships for women as well. I thought that the points made by this were interesting! Granted, I’m not the most well versed person in economics and politics, but I thought the more psychological arguments the author made were solid. The only reason I am giving this four stars rather than five is that the book does not really discuss intersexuality, though the author explicitly states she is aware of this deficit. All in all, the material is interesting and this is a short read, so would recommend if you’re interested.

I think it's time to start and end this revolution.

An amazingly interesting perspective on women's standing in society, why it came to be this way, how to change it and how it's already changing, and most importantly, what it means for our sexual pleasure ;).
