Like all of Henry’s books, this one puts the romance at the middle and writes it well. The mystery is primarily a character study, done well, but a little more fantastical than Henry’s standard. Sweet, fun, steamy, and well worth reading.

Yes, this is reheated Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo without the things that made that book compelling. The romance gets sidelined for all the boring backstory of this other character and ends becoming rushed insta-love because of it. Very little rom and even less com in what they've marketed as a rom-com.
