Honestly I didn’t DNF this because it’s Emily Henry, and I adore her. But hell, was I bored out of my mind. It felt like a book trying to be a TJR novel while also trying to be a romcom, and it failed at both. The romance was insta-lovey and made no sense. I still don’t know why they love each other. Just randomly wanting to fuck someone doesn’t mean you love them, you know?
And the rest was clearly reaching for that TJR vibe, but instead it came off incomplete, messy, and painfully boring.
