[audiobook] a bunch of hot messy ice dancers who all have sexual tension with each other but for reasons (sometimes) unrelated to sex! Extremely TJR coded but for ice dancing big win.
The pacing and plot beats were extremely engaging while also having very good characterisation. I quickly became invested in our cast of characters even though I didn't particularly like any of them (apart from Garrett). The obsessive dynamics between Sheila, Bella, Kat and Heath were extremely compelling and even intoxicating. I loved how the villain dynamics were constantly changing which keeps you on your toes. IMO there were a couple too many dramatic outbursts, which made me feel a little fatigued at Kat and Heath's immaturity, and I also thought they were kind of problematic towards each other in a way that made me not entirely root for them.I also thought the thriller-esque transition towards the end was a little weird and maybe not necessary, but not enough to completely take me out of the book.
I liked the co-parenting pseudo-throupleship at the end, nice to have different kinds of love acknowledged and put on an equal playing field instead of romantic love always being elevated
Audiobook was excellent - it had a cast of narrators which worked really well, for most books I prefer physical because I find audio less engaging but I think I might have become fatigued with the constant drama for this in physical since it is quite melodramatic and just a bit bloated. In audio it was very very slurpable while doing a puzzle <3
