Excellent book by Yrsa again. It reminded me of "Why did you lie?" I liked that it was faster paced than Gallows Rock, we received a clue in nearly every chapter. I love the main characters and I enjoyed how their story evolved. I hope the next book will be out in English soon.

This didn’t exactly go in the direction I thought it would, but I loved it. I also didn’t realise it was part of a series, which I will be looking into as soon as possible, but it can easily be read as a standalone.
There was a lot going on, but it all started coming together at the end in a brilliant reveal. I was trying to figure out the cases and how they could be linked but I definitely did not see it coming. Especially the doll – that was a brilliant twist. The characters were great too, such individual personalities and I felt their emotions along with them.
My only negative was keeping track of the names, but that’s only because it’s been translated from Icelandic to English and as such the names aren’t common to me.
Overall, I just couldn’t put this book down, it was thoroughly gripping and it even gave me goosebumps at times. Happy publication day!

Normally I wouldn't jump in with book 5 of a series, however, it seems the case with translated crime novels that they begin partway through a series. Anyways, The Doll got off to a good start - I mean, who isn't creeped out by dolls at the best of times! Creepy and horrific until it wasn't. Disparate plots brought together throughout the book meant the ending worked, however, it just wasn't the novel I was expecting. Read this if you're a fan of European/Scandinavian/Icelandic crime thrillers.

I'm a huge fan of Yrsa Sigurdardottir. Sadly this was probably my least favorite book. It should have ended a bit sooner. But it was full of her signature twists and creepiness.

Poprzednie części bardziej mi się podobały. Tutaj do jakiegoś 40% historia się wlokła, nic się nie działo, i dopiero później faktyxznie się rozkręciło. I wtedy było bardzo fajnie :) zaraz zabieram się za kolejna cześć
