Fun read. Like reading a Tarantino movie: gory and a little silly at times, with likeable characters and some pretty cool alternative history.

I can't finish this book.
When Henry met Bram Stoker, okay.
When Henry met Conan Doyle through Stoker....ooookay.
When they began to search for Jack the Ripper together....I had to stop.
A few days later, ok I'm going to try again. It goes well and then, Henry meets Nikola Tesla.
Too many people of historical importance. It has gone too far. I can't do it anymore. It just seems too much like the author had to cram as many well known people in as he possibly could, to the point, at least for me, of ridiculousness.

worst book to ever be made. "ballooning" haunts me

Was not nearly as good as the first one. This whole book felt like how many historical names and events can we shove in here. Felt very assassins creed III dlc if you get my drift.

I did not enjoy this book nearly as much as Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter. Somewhere around page 250 ir so it did pull me back in and I read the rest of the pages eagerly. I hope for another one!

Great. Loved how Henry found himself in many different key points in history. Roanoke Colony, Jack the Ripper, World War I, the crashing of the Hindenburg. It was all just fun. A little ridiculous, but insanely fun.

I usually avoid books about vampires, but I did enjoy the previous novel in the series, so I thought I'd give it a try. Mixing vampire lore with history, everything from the Roanoke colony, Jack the Ripper, Rasputin, WWII and the Kennedy assasination, it tells of Englishman Henry Struges who comes to America before it was a country and ends up helping the nation fight off various vampire and human enemies.

This would have been a fun 5-star read if it didn't use the old
"she considered me her father-figure, but then she turned 16 and hot, and I couldn't control my boner"
trope. That bit could have been left out altogether without impacting the story.
