Give Me a Reason is Book 1 in the Redemption Hills series by A.L. Jackson, and what a start it is!! This is the ultimate opposite’s attract, good versus bad story with drama, angst and oh so much heat!! Trent is a man who has lived in darkness and done terrible things in his father’s world. He wants better for his family, now that he’s a father. Then he meets Eden, the sweet and innocent Kindergarten teacher who has some secrets of her own. Can they outrun their pasts in order to build a stable future?

The world building in this series opener was excellent. I’m already emotionally invested in all these characters, and cannot wait to see where this series might end up. There was plenty of intrigue, deep connections, and blazing passion to keep me riveted to the book. And I must say, little Gage was a scene stealer! But envisioning such a virile, confident man as Trent be so loving with his son is one of my favorite things to see in books! This book is definitely a must-read! On to Jud’s book for me!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This is a 2.5-3 star for me. While I guessed one of the twists but the author set it up well enough that I was still like jaw dropped when I got to the reveal.
Unfortunately the overall writing was lacking. The over use of “girl” or “boy” when the interests were referencing each other was annoying. Also the sentences seemed broken for 85% of the books monologue. “Girl didn’t even realize it”. Or when she professed her affection and his response was “will ruin it” like that was the whole sentence. So that was annoying.

This book is about Eden and Trent. I have never read a book where both characters are broken in pieces trying to solve the puzzle which are themselves The attraction that these characters have is unbelievable, the tension was there even at the start, the wanting to be involved to each other were there, so strong attraction Trent is such a loving dad, would do anything for his kid. He appears to be that dangerous guy but when it comes to his kid he would do anything Eden is somehow not afraid to play with the fire but I guess it’s because of the attraction she feels. She would do anything for her family. She has a strong willed personality. I would say that this book is a dark book, just because there is so many mysteries about it, at the start of the book I wanna know what does Trent really do why does it come across as such a dangerous guy, what was his past.

Overall I liked reading it, I liked following the relationship of Eden and Trent. How everything feel into place. Overall I rate it 3.5/5⭐️. Spice: 4/5

I loved Trent Lawson, a tattooed biker and owner of bar who has loved to Redemption Hills with his son and 2 brothers. His son Gage is a brilliant character.
I loved Eden, a strong willed, wearing her heart on her sleeve woman who is drawn to Trent and his darkness within.
As the pair try to navigate the sparks and connection between them their attraction cannot be held back. Added in the joyous and happy Gage who is just so adorable this love story between a haunted man and a woman dealing with grief was brilliant.
I loved everything about this book and am heading straight onto book 2.
A wonderful romance, full of love, hope and it tugs at your heart strings.

BookTok did me well!

I saw this book on my TikTok FYP and immediately downloaded it since it’s a single dad romance and I’m a single mom. I was blown away by the writing. Trent and Eden stirred all the feels in so many good ways. Sweet Gage was just icing on the top! So so good and so so sweet! I will be downloading and starting Logan and Jed’s stories next!

Single dad. Check.
Enemies to lovers… not really. Like more fighting attractions to lovers.
Good girl gets with troubled bad boy, Check.
Good story but was a tad predictable to me but otherwise a fun read.
