By far the very best of Fry's Greek Myth's stories. His retelling of Illiad+ is more cogent and more focussed than his broader works, in which he admits the names, and chronologies will baffle and befuddle most. They do. The tale of the personages surrounding the two sackings of Troy is a more focused tale and particularly well told with the always engaging Fry wit. The additional small essays on the factuality and context of the writing, recounting, and archaeological discovery are themselves particularly well delivered and an important part of the book itself.

Stephen Fry really is a master in storytelling, he seamlessly combines all the different storylines, without it being to much or hard to keep up with. I can't wait to discover what he does with the stories of Odysseus and Aeneas...
