This book perfectly demonstrates the freedom in confession. Our FMC is an author who has been given a terminal cancer diagnosis with months to live. She is determined to finish her final book - the one that will release her of a dark secret from her past that she has been holding onto for years. This is a beautiful novel that shows the impact of love when someone allows it to penetrate the walls they’ve put up in order to protect themselves. The friendships that are created and maintained throughout the story with such vulnerable intention had me on the brink of tears. I normally don’t love a fast-paced, directly into the nitty gritty plot, but it fit perfectly and I can’t imagine this read being paced any other way, or written any differently. It is profound, it is heart wrenching, it is lovely, it is raw, and it also has you questioning to what extent you would go in the name of love.

Helena is a famous author and has written fifteen bestsellers. She lives alone , is a minimalist and has a rigid set of rules that everybody has to follow. She receives a horrible blow and decides to write her toughest novel of all and needs help as this is going to be the book that tells her story.

This is my first book by Alessandra Torre and I loved every minute of it. This is the one that will stay with me with for a long time. It is a great , heart wrenching read with a twist that I did not see coming . My only advice is not to start this book in the night as it will be difficult to put it down

Thanks to my GR friend Kendall for this fantastic recommendation

The twists and turns and suspense galore in this slow burn left me speechless.

I absolutely loved this book, 100/10.

Main character - hated her but by the end I understood her and she felt more “human”.

Don’t let your dislike of the main character keep you from finishing this book. SO. MANY. TWISTS. AND. TURNS.

What a thriller. So good.

Everyone hides; we hide from different things but we all find ourselves huddled up in our minds hiding from one thing or another. We ache to be free of turmoil but fear the consequence of revealing our true selves. So we hide and we put on a mask.

The writing in The Ghostwriter is beautiful; the way the words curve and bleed together reaching out and connecting to you. Tiny invisible strings that tether you to a world not your own. Every page turned caused those strings to constrict. One by one they break.

An emotional charge spills from the pages and fills you with suspense. It was impossible to put it down. The words weren't just formed they were created and they held life. Where there is life there is death.

Helena Ross, an author with 3 months to write the last book she'll ever write. One so deeply rooted in her soul that her entire being aches from the onslaught of memories she's tried to forget. She carries with her a burden of a dark secret that daily threatens to rip her under and wash her away. It's her story; her truth and her lies. There are two other characters that are important, a rival enemy who isn't as they seem and an assistant that is more than they seem. With qualities and emotional depth that you instantly love them both.

Torres delivers a contemporary suspense that crushes the breath from you in one fell swoop and dangles your heart from a single string remaining at the end. The final words ripping your soul in two before quietly stitching it back together, pieces missing.

Definitely one of my favorites this year and one I'll be begging the author to inform me of where I can get one signed.
