So this one is quite a conundrum. I really enjoyed it but then I found out that the series was never finished and most likely will not be. So now while this book ended on a bit of a cliffhanger, I don't think that I will read book 2 because from the reviews, that one has a bigger cliffhanger and to not have any type of ending would just drive me up the wall. But I do want to give this book it's due.

When her mother dies unexpectedly, Kennedy's world is turned upside down. With her father leaving when she was just a young child, her mother was all she had left. With her gone, Kennedy doesn't know where to turn. And now she had to go live with an aunt she doesn't know, in a completely different state. But then, two brothers break into her house and ultimately save her from some unknown supernatural being.

Enter brothers, Jared and Lukas, aka Sam and Dean Winchester. I kid you not, they are brothers who travel and fight evil. They reminded me of Sam and Dean so much it wasn't funny - okay it kind of was. Anyway, the brothers come with news of Kennedy's past and future. She's part of some ancient society set on protecting the world from a powerful demon who wants to make a comeback.

I really felt for Kennedy. Her entire world just disappeared and she was thrust into this supernatural nightmare with no training and zero warning. But while I felt for her, I also loved this group that she came to be a part of. All 6 of them were united under a shared trauma - they all lost someone on the same night and they are all responsible for stopping this demon. While Kennedy may not be as up to date as the rest of them, I loved watching them bring her into the fold and help her understand her destiny.

But what kills me is I have so many theories and so many questions and they will just never be answered. If Garcia ever writes that 3rd book, I will be back to this in a heartbeat. Until then, we part with fond feelings.

2.5 stars.
This book lacked so much in every aspect and I have no idea if I even want to read the sequel.

Reading the blurb, the "hot twins" intrigued me enough to read this. Turns out, they're devoid of any personality, including all the other characters in this book. Not even the main character held my interest. Priest was honestly the only one I could tolerate.

I thought it was a good book. I read it very quickly. It wasn't super well-written, but it was written well enough that I didn't want to throw it across the room, so that's something. I thought the lead character was pretty whiny, and the love triangle seemed forced. Still, I had to think that from my perspective, if I was rescued by two smoking-hot sisters with a dark past, I would probably have the hots for both of them, so I gave it a pass. Some of the imagery was pretty well done, and a few parts were creepy enough that I remembered them after I put the book down. It had an unapologetic BUFFY/SUPERNATURAL feel, which totally plays to my interests. I'll read the rest of the books in the series when they come out, but I'll check them out of the library. I would definitely recommend it to folks who are into this kind of thing, but tell them not to expect great literature.

quick and enjoyable read. nothing too surprising but it moved along at a quick pace and found myself more amused than annoyed by the teen angst

This was my favorite book. Ever. I have given it to so many friends to read and they have all loved it too!
My only complaint:
description
This book is too short! The next must be longer!
I can't describe how cute Kennedy is with Jared!

One day Kennedy is attacked by a ghost, the same ghost that murdered her mother. Twin-gorgeous-brothers Lukas and Jared save her. She ends up joining them in a life of ghost hunting with their other two friends.

The writing style is more middle grade so this is perfect for people who don't read that much or that fast.

I have read this a few times now and loved it each and every time. Jared is just beautiful. The way he acts around Kennedy is just...

This is perfect for anyone who loves humor, supernatural, cute boys, twins, reading, ghosts, intrigue, suspense, everything!!!!
